- Opened in Kumamoto City in 1909 (Meiji 42) as Luther Theological School. In 1911 (Meiji 44), it was authorized as Kyushugakuin, and Toshiyoshi Toyama became the first principal. It was renamed Kyushu Middle School in 1943, Kyushugakuin Middle School in 1946, and Kyushugakuin High School opened in 1948. It transitioned from an all-boys school to coeducation in 1991 (Heisei 3).

Also won the National High School Kendo Selection Tournament 11 times. - Founded in 1899. Renamed to "Kobe Ikuei Gakuen" in 1902, and "Kobe Type A Ikuei Commercial School" was established in 1915. The second gymnasium with a kendo dojo and judo dojo, also serving as a small auditorium, was completed in 1983.

In the Hyogo Prefectural High School Athletic Federation tournament in June 2023, they defeated Kanseigakuin 1-0 in the final to win their 30th consecutive team championship.
