- Opened in April 1953 (Showa 28) as Akita Junior College Affiliated High School. It was renamed Akita Keizai University Affiliated High School in 1964 and Akita Keizai Law University Affiliated High School in 1983. In February 1986, it moved to its current location, and was renamed Meio High School in April 2007 and then to its current name in April 2020. A correspondence course is scheduled to open in April 2026.

Won the boys' team event at the 71st Akita Prefecture High School General Athletic Meet Kendo Competition and the 71st Tohoku High School Championship in the same year.
